Embrace the new decade

At the beginning of 2010, I was ending a horrible 15 month stretch at major publishing firm. I started the new decade simply broken from the experience. I was done with writing and the publishing world after and the brutal schedule and mindset of multinational corporations. In 2014 I went back to high school, which in Quebec is a CEGEP. The kids were freaked out having someone the same age as their mom in class. I was freaked out being with teenagers. It turned out to be a wonderful time. I graduated from high school and joined Concordia in 2016 working on my BFA. It exhausting, exhilarating, sometimes lonely, mostly fun but also hard work. Re-inventing yourself is a good way to stay connected to the wonderful things in life. I graduated in 2024 and I’m still learning and looking forward to the new adventures coming. Don’t be afraid of what’s coming. It’s all good – even the shit parts.  Embrace your journey. Happy New Year.
